Registering your child's profile, step by step
Sakeena is built around the guardian, not the child. Here’s exactly what happens from the moment you sign up to the moment two families agree to connect — so there are no surprises along the way.
Six steps from sign-up to a first conversation
Every step is designed so that the guardian stays in control, and no contact details are shared until both families agree.
Create your Guardian account
Go to oursakeena.com and select Register Now. Sign up using your name, mobile number and a password. As the parent or guardian, this account is yours — your child’s profile sits underneath it, not as a separate login.
Add your child's profile details
Fill in age, education, profession, ethnicity (Sri Lankan Moor, Malay, etc.), religious observance, and city. Full name and photo are kept private at this stage — you can choose what to reveal later, once a match is being considered.
Choose your subscription
Pay Rs. 1,300 for the month via PayHere or a direct bank transfer. There’s no success fee, no matter how long it takes to find the right match — you only ever pay for access to the platform.
We verify the profile by phone
Before the profile goes live, our team calls the guardian to confirm the details submitted are accurate and that the candidate is genuinely unmarried and looking. This call is repeated at least every 60 days to keep the profile active and trustworthy.
Browse and filter other profiles
Search verified profiles using filters for age, gender, marital status, country, ethnicity and religious observance. Only guardian-approved details are visible — nothing is shown to the public internet.
Express interest, then let guardians connect
When a profile looks like a good fit, send a private expression of interest. The other guardian is notified and reviews it on their own time. If both sides agree, contact details are exchanged and the families take the conversation forward directly.

Our verification call usually takes under five minutes and is how your profile goes from submitted to live.
Frequently asked about registering
Can my child register on their own?
Young adults can create a linked profile, but it must sit under a parent or guardian’s account, and every conversation on the platform stays visible to that guardian.
Will our photo or full name be public?
No. Only initials, age, city and a short description are shown while browsing. Full names and photos are shared privately, and only once both guardians agree to connect.
What happens once we find a match?
After both guardians express mutual interest, contact details are exchanged within the platform so the families can speak directly and take the next steps outside Sakeena.
Do we need to renew every month?
Yes, the subscription is billed monthly with no long-term contract. Most families find a suitable match within about three months of active use.
What if we can't afford the subscription?
Ten percent of all subscription revenue funds a Sadaqah pool for families who need help with matchmaking costs. Reach out through the Contact Us page to ask about support.
